Before that, Girgis served as a law clerk to Justice Samuel Alito, Jr., of the U.S. Prior to joining Notre Dame Law, Sherif practiced law at Jones Day in Washington, D.C., where he focused on appellate and complex civil litigation. Sherif Girgis joined Notre Dame Law School in 2021.
